Aragon Middle School held their 24th Annual Spelling Bee on November 20, 2024 with 30 students competing. It was one of the toughest competitions Aragon has ever seen. After 9 rounds, 8th Grader, Catherine Alarcon, was crowning the Champion for correctly spelling the word "consolation." She will be moving on to compete in our District Spelling Bee. Catherine will be moving on to the District Bee with 7th grader, Larissa Arun, who is our runner-up.
On Monday, November 11, Aragon had the honor of hosting the Cy-Fair Special Olympics end-of-season volleyball tournament, and it was a fantastic evening for all involved! A heartfelt thank you goes out to Coach Fisher and the Aragon girls' volleyball team for volunteering their time, energy, and enthusiasm to make the event truly special. Our Aragon girls, along with support from the Langham Creek Cheerleaders, Key Club Members, and PALS played alongside our Special Olympics athletes, creating an unforgettable experience filled with teamwork, encouragement, and fun.
Aragon is truly a wonderful community, and it’s thanks to the kindness and dedication of our students, coaches, and volunteers. We appreciate everyone who contributed to making this tournament an amazing success for our Special Olympics athletes!
We are thrilled to share some wonderful news from last weekend’s Solo and Ensemble Contest, held at Thornton Middle School on Friday, November 8, and Saturday, November 9. Our talented Wildcats represented our school beautifully, with 63 choir students participating in small groups and ensembles, along with 21 students performing impressive solo pieces.
Each student performed in front of a judge and received a score ranging from one (superior) to five (poor). We are incredibly proud to report that their hard work and dedication paid off—our choir students brought home a total of 78 medals for superior performances!
